What I Eat For Breakfast

One of my New Years’ Resolutions when we entered 2017 months ago was to make an effort to eat breakfast everyday, I didn’t even say a necessarily healthy one, I just wanted to start this habit. Have I been complete successful? Nope…but I have made an effort leading to me eating breakfast more often than ever before! And let’s be honest, most days I scarf down a protein bar or even a poptart #yikes but I have been venturing out! Here are a few of my favorite options!


Grapefruit + Yogurt

Grapefruit has been one of my favorite fruits for the longest time. They were a notorious grandma’s house snack, always sprinkled in sugar (yes, even to this day) They always wake me up and make me feel like I’m in Gilmore Girls (let me know if you got that reference!) I love fruit in the morning. I am quite fickle when it comes to yogurt. I really love yogurt, but some flavors I have a definite aversion toward. My all time favorite flavor is key lime, I will never ever turn it down! I try to eat yogurt in the morning-time, especially greek. It really sets me up for the day!

Grapefruit with Sugar:

Calories: around 100; Fat: >.5 grams; Carbs: 13 grams; sugar: 9 grams

Oikos, Key Lime:

Calories: 160; Fat: 4.5 grams; Carbs: 18 grams; Sugar: 17 grams



Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Oatmeal + Blueberries

I grew up eating this because my momma eats this almost every single morning still to this day. If I’m going to hit it hard in the gym or in dance class early in the morning this is what I’ll probably eat. Oatmeal is my favorite and basically any berry complements it so well! I always add extra cinnamon, YUM!


Calories: 120; Carbs: 23 grams; Fat: 1.5 grams; sugar: 6 grams; Protein: 3 grams


Calories: 85; Carbs: 21 grams; Fat: .5 grams; Sugars: 15 grams; Protein: 1.1 grams


French Toast + Mango + Pork Sausage

If I’m being completely honest, this is terrible for you, BUT it’s my new favorite thing to make for a Saturday brunch at home! I think everyone needs to perfect a breakfast food, and I think french toast is mine. Hint: nutmeg is definitely the secret ingredient! At this point, I make it off the top of my head, but this is basically the recipe I use!

French Toast:

Calories: 240; Fat: 6 grams; Carbs: 33 grams; Protein: 10.6 grams


Calories: 201; Fat: 1.3 grams; Carbs: 50 grams; Sugar: 46 grams; Protein: 2.8 grams

Pork Sausage:

Calories: 57 calories; Fat: 4.6 grams; Carbs: .2 grams; Sugar: 0 grams; Protein: 3.5 grams



Egg White Scramble + 1/2 Croissant

This scramble has been my favorite thing to make this semester.  It gives me energy for the longest time. It is so flavorful and I’ve been wanting it for all meals of the day. I love it with a big huge handful of spinach. To make, I use two egg whites (on occasion one full egg and one egg white,) a slice of sausage, and a handful of spinach! And croissants are totally a guilty pleasure of mine!


Calories: around 200, Fat: 10.9 grams; Carbs: 6 grams; Protein: 9.2 grams

1/2 Croissant:

Calories: 115; Fat: 6 grams; Carbs: 13 grams; Sugar: 3 grams; Protein: 2 grams
