Unplugging + A Classic Spring Dress
I am seriously so excited to be writing this post right now! I have been crazy busy (which I will touch on later) but the moment I found the slightest bit of time I seriously got so much inspiration to write! How awesome are these photos?? I'll admit sometimes I am not the easiest to photograph, I am usually super out there irl, but sometimes when I get behind the cam I am the most awkward little duck. My great friend, Dallas, took these photos and everytime I work with him I get so excited to see the results. I'll link some of our other shoots here, here and here.
I was so thrilled when Zaful contacted me to send over some goodies. I have worked with them before and I always love their inexpensive, trendy pieces. Spaghetti strap dresses are a returning trend into this year and I just loved how sweet and classic this one is with the red, white and blue color scheme and the slimming pinstripes. I am so sad this one is sold out currently, but this one is the same silhouette just in a different pattern and this one is so cute with the sunny yellow color and bow detail!
Also, I got these earrings from Walmart for like two bucks last year. They carry a lot of really trendy things that you may not want to splurge on for almost nothing. These I'm freaking obsessed with and am having to use every ounce of willpower I have not to buy.
Okay, so as I said before my life has been super crazy busy as of late...like working all day and only getting six hours of sleep a night kind of busy. Homework has been no joke, this has by far been my heaviest homework load of college so far (&, I'm handling it like a champ if I may add)
BUT one really interesting thing is that it has FORCED me to unplug. I love social media. I enjoy getting to see trends and read tweets and interact with people all over the world, but when time is stretched, it's the first thing that has to go. I wasn't going to give up time spent with my people, I feel like I have really been trying to treasure that more lately. These are the last few weeks my best friend and I get to live together, possibly forever...I am also spending almost every weekend with my boyfriend and this is not time that I would trade for anything. Sure, I do like social media but now I have other things that keep life just as full (which is actually a double win because now I have real things I can talk about when I do post!)
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's okay to take a step back and live in the real world and not post right at the perfect time on some days. We live in a time where everyone says "the grind never stops" but you can press pause on occasion. Social media will still be there and you will still be someone. Invest in what invests in you!
this post is in collaboration with Zaful, as always, all opinions are my own.
