Museum Day + I CHOPPED MY HAIR OFF
As many of you know, I have been obsessed with this color for quite some time now, so when I spotted this dress I fell in loveeeeee. I really do love this shape as well, it’s one of my go to’s…high neckline/long sleeves and a short hem. I honestly think this pattern will work well into fall because it incorporates black! I can’t wait to pair it with a leather jacket and some black booties! It’ll work great for our still warm Texas falls.
To be warned, this dress does not come with a slip, so I’m honestly wearing a black body con skirt and a cami underneath! Ya gotta do what ya gotta do! But, the back features a fun keyhole detail and the sleeves can transform from big and bell like to tight to the wrists because of the fun tassel detail. A $10 coupon code is below!
Sooooo, it seems like we have quite a bit to catch up on! Before I acknowledge the elephant in the room, I wanted to talk about my rad museum day! We decided to go to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and while we did wander around the general areas (they’re free on Thursdays, check out my post on those here) we also decided to pay to see some of their most popular exhibits for this summer!
The sculptures pictured above are part of the Ron Mueck Collection and that was quite spectacular…his pieces are so lifelike, other than the fact that they’re either larger than life or much, much smaller. It was fun to get upclose and see the incredible detail put into these pieces, the way skin would droop with gravity, each individual pore…the attention to the small details was just remarkable to witness. This exhibit is only around for one more week, so be sure to check it out!
Now for those light pictures, these are from the Pipilotti Rist: Pixel Forest Collection and while the photos are spectaular and I would pay money to take them again, if you’re just going to look, the exhibit was a little small and expensive. These are some of my favorite photos that I have ever had taken and it was really fun to prance around in this dreamland. I would recommend to take your DLSR though, so you can get those colors and lights perfectly!
Now here it is…….I CHOPPED MY HAIR OFF! Nine whole inches guys (and yes, I’m donating it through Pantene Beautiful Lengths!!!) Normally, I think about a hair cut for about nine months before actually doing it and while I had been thinking about it for a couple weeks (I wasn’t thaaaat impulsive!) I still just took the leap! What really sold me was watching the final season of Pretty Little Liars (FINALLY uploaded to Netflix) and gawking of Lucy Hale’s blunt bob. Like major heart eyesssssss. When I first saw my much shorter do, I was OBSESSED (still am) but I, soon after experienced some anxiety…did I make the right decision??? Was everyone going to hate it? Was I never going to get talked to by a boy EVER AGAIN??? If you can’t tell I was letting other people’s opinions of me take away from the fact that I felt more like myself than I have in months…It’s sassy, it’s cool, Hell….I’ve even been called edgy and bold. #winning. I love my new lewkkkkk. If you’re thinking about it #justdoit #nike
