How To Transition Into Fall Without Cool Weather
So, I live in Southern Texas, and although I am feeling very lucky because we have already had two days so far under 70, the reality is that our fall will for the most part be quite warm (but definitely praying for a nice surprise)!
I cannot bear to not get in the fall spirit with my clothes, but I also refuse to sweat my ass off daily. I feel like I have found decent ways to still remain festive, I mean this post was a request from one of my friends irl!
Here are a few of my go to tricks:
I definitely try to layer up, specifically in the center of my body while leaving either my arms or legs uncovered. So maybe, a sweater with shorts or a tank and jeans with a light scarf. You can definitely tie things around your waist as well, this lets you show off new patterns, just as plaid or thicker textures like denim! Also, one of my favorite tips is try finding a light vest. They give a great layered look while still letting your arms breathe.
Change your color scheme, not your fabrics.
I changed my closet into fall/winter already, BUT I still have a lot of summery silhouettes, only in fall-y colors. Also, I stick to THIN fabrics. I look for the breathable, so even if I am wearing a fall looking long sleeve it’s extremely breezy, plus I maybe wearing it with shorts. And to get your bang for your buck, once it starts cooling down, these things can easily be layered to actually stay warm.
Update your accessories
Along with changing your color scheme, update your accent pieces. This honestly is my main go to, how can you incorporate this seasons trends while not adding ANY heat? Add and earring or a hat or a darker belt! You can give yourself that chunky cozy look, while still wearing breathable clothing. Plus shoes, I notice that these change the most between summer and fall and I can be a cool update to an outfit that you may feel like you’ve been wearing all summer.
I hope you are getting cool weather where you are, but if not, I hope you find these tips helpful!
