How To Look Festive AF Without Going Overboard
Take silhouettes you love and try them in a new color or pattern
For instance this outfit! I love turtlenecks and I thought adding the festive flair of gold would be perfect to take this outfit to the next (holiday) level. The perfect way to do this is to wear lots of red, gold, holiday plaid, velvet and sparkle in any article of clothing you already love! This year for the New Year I'm especially obsessed with basic, shift tee shirt dresses that are COVERED in sequins like this one!
Color block in new ways
This time of year, I color block in ways I traditionally wouldn't year round. I wear reds and greens together and really turn the saturation up on the nostalgic holiday colors. I am even thinking about wearing a copper dress with some deep green pumps for Christmas Eve, but I just haven't decided yet!
Go overboard on the accesories
I think this time of year is by far the most glamorous and that's the perfect excuse to wear some amazing jewelry and shoes, not to mention scarves and coats. I think adding a cozy accesory can really change a look!
This is the time for your makeup abilities to shine through. I love a good purple and gold smoky eye, a rosy cheek, and and (obvi) a good red lip!! The red lipstick linked below is my current fave. The color is stunning and it's an AWESOME (& inexpensive!) formula!
Below I have added a few more holiday worthy looks for some additional inspo!
