Final Festive Week Date Ideas
There is only one week before Christmas and I plan to go all out when it comes to being festive! Unfortunately, I’m in a long distance relationship so going out isn’t really an option, BUT I plan on doing a bunch of these things with my sister or my mom or frankly anyone interested.
Speaking of my bf, we went ice skating on our first date! I think it’s so fun and festive and I love that it’s something active to do in the winter months were we tend to be bundled up, plus it doesn’t hurt that it’s relatively inexpensive. Also, this doesn’t rely on the holidays! You can do it well after Christmas is over for something fun to do while still on break.
In Houston: They have a huge rink at Discovery Green, The Galleria (open all year) and at Sugar Land Ice and Sports Center.
There are so many great plays happening in Houston right now, but December is a huge month for theatre everywhere!
In Houston: At Stages Rep Theatre, they’re doing Panto Star Force (which I have multiple friends in right now!), A Christmas Carol at the Alley Theatre, Beauty and the Beast at The Hobby Center, The Elf (also know people in this!) and of course The Nutcracker at the Wortham!
Christmas Movie Night
I’ve already done this multiple times this year with my momma, BUT Josh and I are having a long distance movie date this coming week and I’m so so excited!
Last week we watched The Princess Switch and I thought it was really cute and Vanessa Hudgens isn’t a bad actress! Plus, as I write this I’m watching The Holiday Calendar and it has Kat Graham and the same guy who plays Randall’s biological dad in This Is Us!
I used to love driving around looking at lights, but I haven’t gotten to do it in years! Also, there’re awesome light exhibits in almost every big city!
In Houston: If you’re driving around, I recommend River Oaks. But, if you’re wanting a walk through experience, The Zoo Lights are great, the light exhibit at Moody Gardens is always a good one and I went to the Magical Winter Lights a few years ago which was less traditional and really fun!
Every year near the holidays I get the urge to bake like crazy! We usually have a night where we bake dozens of cookies and stay up all night decorating them! Always so fun! Also Gingerbread houses/men are always a fun time!
Stay tuned for a recipes blog post on Thursday!
