Guys, I love Texas in the springtime. It’s really the only time of the year there’s a ton of color around the state and from a girl who loves to be outside, it’s my favorite. But, the pollen this year is honestly laughable (when you aren’t dying from it) I live in the piney woods area most of the time and almost every morning I wake up to a BLANKET of pollen covering everything. Like, the song Yellow by Coldplay had to be written about spring in Texas, haha.

Would you believe me if I told you that this outfit in its entirety cost less than $5?! Well, I am proud to say it did. The sweater and the skirt I scored from the Forever 21 clearance sale in store. I got the sweater for $2, but, now brace yourselves, the skirt was only 70 cents. Guys, that’s better than thrifting!!!

I’ve noticed that ruffles have made a huge comeback this spring and while I have been loving ruffle detail like this one, I wanted to embrace the trend a little differently and I think the understated ruffles on this skirt are perfect. I can already see myself pairing this so many ways throughout the season! Plus, this blue color is my fave.
